The first of the Shadow Boxes, which we made several years ago, can be seen on this page. It was for a friend and neighbor to display a pair of Native made gloves of the 1930s, which we added to a framed photo of his prospector uncle outside his log cabin, in Northern Canada. Since then we have experimented with different designs and now offer these finely crafted Shadow Boxes as part of our line-up of Barnwood Frames. These Shadow Boxes are lined with barnboard and include a mat backing, so that you can attach your chosen articles to the backing. A metal hanger, that comes with our Shadow Boxes, allows them to be hung either horizontally or vertically. The matting is held in place with flexi-points, and then you attach your articles onto the matting. There are a couple of examples on this page and more examples on the Shadow Box page. The possibilities are almost endless. This is a wonderful way to preserve some of your precious memories. The Shadow Box with the spoons is a collection of old spoons that Gwen had when she was a baby, all shone up and in a 5 X 7 inch Shadow Box. These Shadow Boxes have become a very popular addition to our Barnwood Frames Series. These Shadow Boxes are also available unlined, to accept an artist?s canvas painting. |
